South-South More United Under President Tinubu – Omonigho Oborevwori

The Deputy Woman Leader of the City Boy Movement (CBM) Women Wing in Delta State, Omonigho Oborevwori, has said that the South-South region is more united under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Oborevwori made the remarks while speaking with journalists on the sidelines of the APC South-South Zonal Congress held in Asaba, Delta State, where she led the mobilisation of over 500 grassroots women for the event.

She described the gathering as historic, noting that it is the first time in nearly two decades that the region has spoken with one voice in support of the president, calling the unity a significant milestone for the South-South.

Oborevwori stressed that empowering women politically remains central to consolidating the gains already recorded by the APC in the region. “I remain committed to mobilising and strengthening grassroots participation, ensuring that our structures remain active, inclusive, and effective,” she added.

She congratulated the newly elected executives who emerged under consensus arrangement following a unanimous vote by the delegates, underscoring the party’s commitment to stability, unity, and inclusiveness.

At the end of the congress, Chief Victor Giadom emerged as National Vice Chairman (South-South), alongside Dr. Ita Udosen (Zonal Secretary), Barr. Neworld Safugha (Legal Adviser), Dr. Samuel Nwanosike (Publicity Secretary), Prince Urhoro Koyoyo (Youth Leader), Hon. Suobankuo Omoni (Women Leader), Hon. Prince Edward (Organising Secretary), and Prince Ayo Peter as representative of Persons with Disabilities.

In his remarks, the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio conveyed the goodwill of President Tinubu and commended the South-South for its growing unity and political consolidation within the APC, noting that the region has evolved into a formidable political bloc.

Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, who hosted the congress, described the gathering as a demonstration of the party’s strength and grassroots reach. Other governors, including Douye Diri, Umo Eno, Bassey Otu, Monday Okpebholo, and Siminalayi Fubara, echoed calls for unity and alignment to strengthen the South-South’s political relevance at the national level.
