Hundreds of youths from across Owerri Zone turned the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport into a vibrant carnival of pride and celebration on Saturday, February 28, 2026, as they gave a rousing welcome to High Chief (Dr.) Princess Chetachi Nwoga-Ecton, fondly known as Ada Imo and Adaure.
The philanthropist, widely regarded as a global ambassador of compassion, arrived from Abuja escorted by His Excellency Amb. Dr. Yahaya Mohammad Kyabo Fagge, FCIML — Fan Darman Jiwa Wakilin Sarkin Jiwa of the FCT Abuja Emirate Council — in a symbolic gesture recognising her extensive charity work across Northern Nigeria.
What started as a formal reception quickly transformed into a spontaneous cultural festival. Drums rolled, traditional dancers performed energetically, and youths in coordinated outfits chanted solidarity songs while waving placards and banners. The atmosphere buzzed with Igbo heritage displays, music, and communal joy, drawing media attention from within and outside the state.
High Chief Princess Chetachi Nwoga-Ecton, visibly moved by the overwhelming show of love, was celebrated for her years of humanitarian service uplifting vulnerable communities, empowering women and children, and fostering cross-regional goodwill.
Youth leaders at the scene passionately urged her to consider entering politics, arguing that her leadership qualities, global exposure, and proven record of service make her a credible voice for Owerri Zone and beyond.
“She has done so much without holding public office. Imagine what she could achieve with a political platform,” one youth coordinator declared, drawing loud applause from the crowd.
While the philanthropist warmly acknowledged the affection and support, she made no political pronouncement, leaving her future intentions open to speculation.
The historic reception has since sparked widespread conversation across the zone, with many seeing it as a powerful statement of youth admiration, collective pride, and high expectations for Ada Imo.
