NOUN students back Oyebamiji, inaugurate new exco in Osun

The leadership of the Congress of National Open University of Nigeria students has inaugurated new executives, declaring a firm resolve to influence the political direction of Osun State.

The ceremony, described as historic and ideologically driven, highlighted the determination of students to play a decisive role in shaping governance in the state.

In his inaugural address, the President, Comrade Daudu Ahemode Jeffrey, passed a vote of confidence on Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, describing him as a tested and trusted leader.

Jeffrey said Oyebamiji’s track record, administrative experience and people-oriented approach make him the most credible option to lead Osun at a critical time.

He noted that the endorsement was not symbolic but a strategic alignment by one of the most vibrant student bodies in the country.

According to him, the Congress represents over 20,000 students across three study centres in Osun, making it a formidable political constituency.

“Students are no longer passive observers but active stakeholders in governance,” he said, adding that the body would support leadership defined by competence and vision.

He stressed that the Congress would serve as a critical bloc in influencing political outcomes and ensuring the emergence of capable leadership in the state.

Jeffrey urged students and residents to rise above apathy and support a leadership that guarantees progress, stability and inclusive development.
