
The people of Ogberuru community in Orlu, Imo State, have honoured Nigerian socialite Ugo Spunky Obioha with a chieftaincy title in recognition of his contributions to community development.
The title was conferred by Eze U.O.U Iriele Duruoshimiri, the Obi of the ancient Ogberuru Kingdom, alongside the traditional council and community elders.
Obioha was bestowed with the title “Akaji Aku Ogberuru” during a ceremony held at the palace (Ejete) in Ogberuru as part of the festive celebrations.
The honour was in recognition of his outstanding contributions to philanthropy, community development, and the overall welfare of the Ogberuru people.
Speaking at the event, community leaders described Obioha as a worthy son of the land whose commitment to progress, peace, and prosperity has made a positive impact on the community.
In his acceptance speech, Obioha expressed gratitude to the people of Ogberuru and pledged continued support for the growth and development of the community.
“To our esteemed king and chiefs, thank you for your wisdom, guidance, and dedication to our community. Your leadership is a beacon of hope and unity. We are grateful for your service and pledge our support and loyalty to uphold the traditions and values you have instilled in us,” he said.
The ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, titled men, community leaders, and well-wishers from within and outside Imo State.
