A socio-political group, City Boy Movement, has inspected ongoing federal government road projects in Osun State to assess the pace and quality of work.

The group, led by its State Coordinator, Kayode Sowade, commended the administration of President Bola Tinubu for prioritising infrastructure development across the country.

Members of the movement expressed satisfaction with the progress recorded on the Ilesa-Ife-Ibadan Expressway, where rehabilitation works commenced in 2025.

Sowade said the inspection was aimed at ensuring accountability and keeping citizens informed about ongoing government projects.

“The reason we embarked on this inspection is to monitor the pace and quality of work being done. As end users, we are stakeholders and owners of the project. Since the federal government is based in Abuja, it is important for us to be on ground to observe and report any shortcomings,” he said.

He added that many residents were unaware of the scale and progress of the project, noting that part of the group’s objective was to sensitise the public on government activities in their communities.

“We also want people to know what the Tinubu administration is doing within their areas. We commend the government for the work done so far,” he added.

Meanwhile, the group distributed 2,000 food packs to residents of the state as part of Ramadan and Lent outreach to support vulnerable groups.

The distribution, held at the Ileri-Oluwa office in Osogbo, targeted artisans, persons with disabilities, market women, and others in the informal sector.

The Osun State Director of the movement, Gafar Ayodeji, said the initiative was aimed at supporting the less privileged and strengthening community engagement.

“We want them to see this as a token of our support. It is also a way of identifying with them and seeking their cooperation ahead of the 2026 governorship election in Osun State and the 2027 general elections,” he said.
