A civil society organization, Creek to Creek Movement, has thrown its support behind Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited, urging the federal government to sustain its pipeline surveillance contract despite calls for its termination.

In a statement signed by conveners Comr. Jefe Abido, Comr. Ajibade Smith, and Comr. Chima Samuel Obririnank, the group described critics of the contract as “charlatans” seeking to sabotage the oil and gas sector for personal gain.

The contract, awarded in September 2022 by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited, covers Delta, Ondo, Imo, Rivers, and parts of Bayelsa states, with a monthly value of N4 billion.

According to the group, Tantita Security Services has played a critical role in maintaining peace in the Niger Delta, reducing pipeline vandalism, and enhancing local content through job creation and investor confidence.

The statement read in part: “To overlook the good work Tantita Security Services is doing and concentrate on the value of the contract is nothing but envy, jealousy, and plain hatred for the peace and security in the creeks, which has resulted in seamless oil exploration and refining.”

The group urged President Bola Tinubu to continue the contract, noting that its continuity is vital for national security, economic growth, and the prosperity of the Niger Delta region.

It also called on Nigerians from all walks of life to support the administration and Tantita Security Services to ensure sustained security, increased production output, and overall economic benefits.
