Families of missing NELAN Engineers seek Tinubu’s intervention

President Tinubu

Families of five engineers who went missing in Ebonyi State more than three years ago have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to intervene and ensure progress in the case.

In a petition submitted through their legal representatives, CNO Attorneys, the families expressed concern over the prolonged absence of clear updates on the investigation, noting that the uncertainty has continued to weigh heavily on them.

Copies of the petition were also sent to Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.

The engineers—Nelson Onyemeh, Ernest Edeani, Ikechukwu Ejiofor, Samuel Aneke, and Stanley Nwazulum—were employees of NELAN Construction Limited. They were reported missing in November 2021 while working as consultants on a ring road project in Ebonyi State.

Their families described them as dedicated professionals and primary providers whose absence has created significant emotional and financial challenges for their households.

According to the petition, the disappearance occurred during the period the engineers were engaged on the project in the Effium area of Ebonyi State.

The families are calling for renewed attention to the matter, urging the federal government to support efforts to determine the whereabouts of the engineers and bring clarity to the case.

They emphasized the need for a thorough and transparent process, expressing hope that sustained intervention will help provide answers and relief after years of uncertainty.
