Delta: Agbarha APC suspends members over constitution breaches

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agbarha Ward, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, has suspended some of its members for alleged activities inconsistent with the party’s constitution.

The suspension was announced after an emergency meeting of the Agbarha Ward Executive Committee held on March 30, 2026, at the party secretariat in Agbarha-Otor.

In a formal notice sent to the APC leadership in Ughelli North, the ward listed those affected, including Chief Christopher Ominimini Obiuwevbi and others.

The ward stated that the suspension was in line with Article 21(2) (i), (ii), (iv), and (vi) of the APC Constitution. It cited reasons such as gross misconduct, insubordination, and acts prejudicial to party unity.

The resolution was signed by Ward Chairman Obus Sylvester Emoefe, Ward Vice Chairman Ejovwoke Omamose, Ward Secretary Christopher Imoniunu, and 19 other members of the ward executive committee.

The ward leadership called on the Ughelli North Local Government Executive Committee to ratify the decision.

When contacted, Chief Christopher Ominimini Obiuwevbi rejected the suspension, describing it as politically motivated. He stated that his group would also respond accordingly.

Party stakeholders noted that such disciplinary actions are part of the APC’s internal mechanisms aimed at maintaining order and adherence to the party’s constitution at the grassroots level.

Further developments on the matter are expected as the local government executive reviews the ward’s resolution.
