A businessman and governorship aspirant in Adamawa State, Abdulrahman Haske, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for reaffirming his commitment to youth and women inclusion in politics during the 8th National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The convention, held at Eagle Square in Abuja over the weekend, brought together party stakeholders from across the country and focused on strengthening internal structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by Abdulgaffar Ahmad, his Publicity Secretary, on Saturday, Haske noted that the president’s address provided renewed hope for young Nigerians aspiring to leadership roles.
“We have had a productive and well-coordinated APC National Convention with active participation of all members of the party and the President’s speech offers an elixir and hope to people like me, who project the aspirations of the youth population,” he said.
He emphasised that young people, who make up a significant portion of Nigeria’s population, remain critical to the country’s development and political future.
According to him, the Tinubu administration’s efforts to integrate youths and women into governance have boosted confidence across different segments of society and contributed to the delivery of democratic dividends.
Haske also highlighted the president’s direct message to young Nigerians at the convention, urging greater participation in governance and party activities.
“For the young people of our country and our nation, let me speak directly to you. You are not only the future of Nigeria. You are our hope for a more glorious and assured future,” he said quoting the president.
He further quoted the president as stressing the need to create opportunities for youths to take on decision-making roles within the party.
“Your creativity, innovation, digital fluency, enterprising spirit, and courage are our greatest national asset. This party must continue to open more doors for our youth participation, not as a prop, but as decision makers,” the president added.
Haske said such remarks reinforce the need to nurture a new generation of politically active and value-driven leaders, describing the president’s stance as a strong encouragement for young Nigerians seeking elective positions.
He also congratulated members of the newly constituted National Working Committee (NWC) and other party executives at various levels for the successful conduct of the convention, urging them to remain committed to strengthening the party.
Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, Haske expressed readiness to collaborate with stakeholders across party lines to advance the inclusion of youths and women in the political space.
