Following the announcement of the commencement of Ramadan fasting by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved a reduction in official working hours for public servants.
The directive, contained in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry for Establishment, Pension and Training, Hafsat Ibrahim Tune, was made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
“The Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, has approved a reduction of official working hours by two hours during the Ramadan fasting period,” the letter stated.
Under the revised schedule, civil servants will work from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Ibrahim Tune added that normal working hours will resume at the end of Ramadan.
