A socio-political group, Kwara By Consensus (KBC) has rallied support through united prayers for the Woro community, the people of Kaiama and the state in order to overcome this dark period.

It’s Chairman, AbdulHamid Sambo made the call in a statement issued in Ilorin on the sidelines of the massacre in Woro community, which left scores of residents killed last week Tuesday by some jihadist protagonists.

“In this moment of profound grief, we call on all people of goodwill across Kwara State to unite in prayer and support for our brothers and sisters in Kaiama LGA.

“We believe that through unity and resilience, the state shall overcome this dark phase.”the statement said.

It was earlier noted that,”we received with immense sorrow and shock the tragic news of the violent assault that led to the loss of many precious and innocent lives.

“This act of mindless brutality is not only an attack on the peaceful people of those communities but a direct affront to the collective peace and security of Kwara State.

“Our hearts are heavy, and we stand in solidarity with the families who have lost their beloved ones in this horrific incident.

“We pray to Almighty Allah to grant the departed souls eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus and to give the bereaved families, the entire Woro and Nuku communities, and the Emirate the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.”

The group also commended ,”the swift response and ongoing efforts of the State Government under the leadership of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, as well as the security agencies, in managing the aftermath of this tragedy and working to restore normalcy and security to the affected areas.

“The KBC Group reiterates its unwavering support for all lawful measures and collaborations aimed at eradicating the menace of banditry and criminality from every corner of Kwara State.

“We urge continued and enhanced vigilance, as well as stronger community-security synergy to prevent future occurrences.”the statement said.
