Renowned legal luminary and philanthropist, Nze Dr. Barr. Adolph Anyiam Okoroha, has further etched his name in the annals of selfless service with the donation of a fully built and endowed two‑storey Science Building to Imo State University (IMSU), Owerri.
The project, inaugurated on January 5, 2026, was commissioned by Vice‑Chancellor Prof. U.U. Chukwumaeze on behalf of Governor Hope Uzodimma. The Vice‑Chancellor described the edifice as “a beacon of academic excellence and a generational investment in scientific education.”
Okoroha, a British‑trained lawyer and Managing Director of Law Chambers, Graceland Solicitors, has long been celebrated for his deliberate and structured philanthropy. His interventions span education, healthcare, and cultural preservation. From renovating classroom blocks at Abba Technical College to establishing Okoroha Royal Academy in Owerri, his contributions have consistently strengthened learning institutions.
In healthcare, he endowed a storey building in Ogwuaga Abba as a community health centre, ensuring sustainability beyond construction. His latest gift to IMSU is regarded as one of the most significant single‑handed infrastructural donations in the university’s history.
Speaking at the commissioning, Okoroha emphasized his philosophy of intentional development: “True greatness lies not in titles amassed but in lives uplifted. Education and healthcare are pillars of progress, and we must build them to last.”
His philanthropic consistency has earned him numerous honours, including the Ezinwanwa Eji Aga Mba Title and the Ndi Nze na Ozo UK Award, recognizing his humanitarian impact and legal excellence.
Community leaders also praised his cultural commitment. The Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community Women’s Wing conferred on him the Ezidi Title, acknowledging his role in preserving traditions while driving modern development.
Observers note that Okoroha’s giving is neither episodic nor politically motivated but patterned and purposeful. Today, students, patients, and communities benefit from his vision, and with the IMSU Science Building, future scientists and medical professionals will train in world‑class facilities.
As one community elder remarked: “He has built structures of concrete and steel, but more importantly, he has built hope. And hope never fades.”
