FCC to Staff: Corruption, misconduct won’t be tolerated

By Henry Obetta

The Federal Character Commission, FCC, has reaffirmed its zero tolerance policy on corruption, slot-selling and all forms of misconduct, warning that such acts will not be condoned under any circumstance.

Executive Chairman of FCC, Hulayat Motunrayo Omidiran stated this on Monday, during a formal briefing convened for the reintroduction of the 25 Operational Committees and inauguration of the committee clerks.

Representing the Executive Chairman, the Secretary to the commission, Muhammad Musa, emphasised that the new assignment demands loyalty, dedication, discipline, and hard work, adding that regular performance assessments would be conducted to ensure strict accountability in the discharge of duties.

Musa further announced that a whistleblowing policy will soon be introduced, in collaboration with Commissioners, to identify and address corrupt practices within the system.

In his remarks, the Director of Human Resources, Sanni Ibrahim, clarified that the appointments are ad hoc and advised the clerks to continue reporting to their parent departments while keeping their Directors informed of official assignments. He reminded them that they are ambassadors of the Commission and must perform their duties in strict compliance with Federal Character principles and guidelines.
