By Charly Agwam
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has declared Tuesday, February 3, a work-free day for civil servants in both public and private sectors to mark the golden jubilee anniversary.
In a press release made available by the governor’s media aide, Muhktar Gidado, on Tuesday, the governor described the anniversary as a moment to reflect on the state’s journey, celebrate achievements, and renew commitment to development, peace and good governance.
He urged residents to pray for continued peace, progress and prosperity.
As part of the celebrations, Governor Mohammed directed all residents to plant at least one tree to promote environmental sustainability and combat desertification.
He also emphasised responsible celebration, peace, and collective responsibility.
The governor, however, exempted essential services while inviting all citizens to participate in the golden jubilee activities and make it a memorable one.
