Arokarawei drives digital shift in global maritime

By Godwin Oritse

Dr. Godsgift Arokarawei represents a new generation of maritime professionals whose careers span engineering, digital technology, and global leadership.

With academic credentials across Europe and the United States, and decorated service connected with the United States Navy, his journey reflects the transformation of the global maritime industry itself.

His foundation began in Europe at Constanta Maritime University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. The training grounded him in ship systems, propulsion technology, and the technical backbone of international shipping.

He advanced his engineering expertise in the United Kingdom, completing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering at Liverpool John Moores University. He later obtained a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Selinus University of Science & Literature, further deepening his technical and research credentials.

But Dr. Arokarawei’s academic evolution did not stop with traditional engineering. In the United States, he expanded into digital systems, management, and leadership, disciplines increasingly central to modern maritime operations.

He earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Southern New Hampshire University, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He followed this with another Summa Cum Laude Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration and a Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership from University of Maine at Presque Isle.

Recognizing the growing intersection between shipping and digital infrastructure, he completed a Master of Science in Computer Science at North American University and later earned a Master of Business Administration from University of Maryland Global Campus. He also holds a PhD in Engineering Management from Rexford Business University.

His academic excellence is underscored by multiple honors, including dual Summa Cum Laude distinctions. He was also recognized as an NSDP–NIMASA Scholar, a distinction linked to Nigeria’s maritime development framework.

Beyond academia, Dr. Arokarawei has been recognized for meritorious service associated with the United States Navy, and multiple Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals. The honors reflect a career shaped by discipline, operational competence, and leadership under pressure.

Today, he operates at the intersection of maritime engineering and digital transformation. As automation, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity reshape global shipping, Dr. Arokarawei advocates for a new model of maritime leadership, one that blends mechanical mastery with data intelligence and strategic management.

“Maritime security is no longer just about physical waters,” he notes in his commentary. “It is equally about protecting digital infrastructure and global supply chains.”

In an era where vessels are becoming smarter and ports increasingly automated, Dr. Arokarawei’s cross-continental academic journey mirrors the industry’s own shift, from steel and engines to algorithms and systems strategy.
