The Imo State governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, has sent out invitation to the state’s golden jubilee celebrations.

In a statement by Chief Cosmas Iwu, Secretary to the Government of Imo State/Chairman, Planning Committee, Governor Uzodimma said: “On behalf of the Government and the good people of the State, I am delighted to invite all Imo people, residents, and the general public to the Golden Jubilee anniversary celebration of the State’s creation.

“The week-long celebrations will commence on Sunday, 1 February 2026, with an Interdenominational Thanksgiving Service at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

“The programme will culminate in a Grand Finale on Saturday, 7 February 2026, at Government House, Owerri, featuring an Honours Awards ceremony and the unveiling of a commemorative book, “Imo @ 50: The Full Story”.
