The former Commonwealth and British Light Heavyweight boxing champion, Peter Oboh, now a pastor, has expressed worry and advised circumspection the invasion of Venezuela.
Recall that on Saturday, US President Donald Trump announced that Venezuelan President, Nicolás Maduro had been captured by US forces and taken to New York City in a “large-scale strike” against the South American country.
Reacting, Oboh said: “The USA military travelling to Venezuela, and abducting a sitting president and his wife, Cilia Adela Flores de Maduro at this time, sound strange.
“However, if those drug dealings allegations against Mr. Maduro are true, then the invasion by Donald Trump can be highly justified.
“The gospel truth is that the Venezuelan president could have made more millions of dollars from crude oil deal than getting involved in drug dealings, which is the allegations made against him.
“To me, unless Mr. Nico Maduro allowed such drug dealings, to please the mafia so he can remain in power, there are questions that need answers.
“Where I do have a big issue is Donald Trump’s statement a few days ago that Venezuela’s crude oil will be controlled by the United States Government. To me, such sounds suspicious and unprofessional on the American side, and true righteousness is what we really need.”
