
Tech entrepreneur Opata Efungwu, Co-Founder of Bammby, has traditionally married his partner, Chinelo Anastasia Umeanaka, in a culturally rich ceremony held on 6th December 2025 in Ezinifite, Anambra State.
The ceremony, conducted in accordance with Igbo customs shared by both families, brought together relatives, elders, and well-wishers to witness the union. The event was marked by traditional rites, colorful attire, music, and dance, reflecting the depth and pride of Igbo cultural heritage.
Elders from both families led the proceedings, officially uniting the couple, while live performances added vibrancy and celebration. The atmosphere was intimate yet festive, with strong family participation at the heart of the event.
Born on 5th November to university professors Damian and Patience Opata, Efungwu grew up in Nsukka, where he laid the foundations for his academic and entrepreneurial journey. He attended the University of Nigeria Secondary School before proceeding to the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, where he became known for curating notable student and community events, including the popular UNN Staff Awards, and for publishing Potrix Magazine.
These early initiatives evolved into his entrepreneurial ventures, including Tech Workstations, a technology company that now oversees multiple digital brands such as Bammby and Remedy Portal.
The traditional wedding drew the presence of political dignitaries, prominent personalities, and close friends and family. Among the notable guests was Nigerian music star Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, adding a high-profile touch to the private yet celebratory event.
The ceremony marks a new chapter for Efungwu and Umeanaka as they unite their families, culture, and shared values in a beautiful celebration of tradition, love, and community.
