- As APC holds unity walk in Modakeke
By Shina Abubakar, Osogbo
As the All Progressives Congress, APC, takes its consultation outreach to Modakeke community, the monarch of the town, the Ogunsua, Oba Joseph Toriola has offered prayers for the party’s success and urged them to be united in purpose.
This is as the party supporters in the town, led by the Executive Director, Ogun-Osun River Basin Development Authority, Engr Kayode Sowade, embarked on unity walk across major streets which terminated the Ogunsua’s palace.
While addressing the party’s 5,000 loyalists at his palace, Oba Toriola prayed that Mr Bola Oyebamiji’s ambition would be successful, charging his supporters to embrace unity among themselves, abhor politics of bitterness, strife and violence in Modaleke and beyond.
His words: “Modakeke has accepted you all because you are from this town. You should know our history that we are not divided but united. I want to urge you to start working for your candidate without strife and fighting.
“You need to work rigorously for the victory of your candidate and you must do this without fighting anyone. Peace is very key to your agenda. I charge the youths to go from door to door for mobilisation, God will uphold you and ensure your desire come into fruition, you will succeed and God will protect you all.”
Earlier, Engr. Sowade explained that the unity walk is to present the guber candidate of APC to the town through the king, Oba Toriola and to seek his prayer ahead of the August 8, 2026 Osun gubernatorial election.
He said, “We are starting house-to-house sensitisation against the lies and propaganda of the incumbent government. We are on course and nothing will deter us to deliver victory for APC. We’ve held meetings with all the youths and the guber candidate promised to give us the needed support.”
Similarly, the Chairman of APC in Ife East, Modakeke, Hon. Goke Adebowale, said “Oyebamiji promised us inclusive governance which is what we are going about to tell our people in Modakeke.
“For this door-to-door sensitisation, we are targeting 60,000 votes in Modakeke. I advise the youth to embrace the inclusivity that Oyebamiji is bringing and must vote for him massively on August 8, 2026.”
