Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort and Conference Centre recently welcomed a distinguished guest, Dr. Mokgweetsi Eric Masisi, former President of the Republic of Botswana, in a visit that has further spotlighted the resort’s rising status within Africa’s tourism and hospitality landscape.

Masisi was taken on a guided tour of the resort, where he experienced its most famous attraction, the rare natural convergence of warm and cold springs flowing side by side.

Widely regarded as one of the world’s most unique geological phenomena, the springs left a strong impression on the former African leader.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Masisi praised Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort for its tranquil environment, rich natural endowment, and strong potential as a flagship tourism destination.

He emphasised the importance of preserving Africa’s natural assets and investing strategically in tourism as a catalyst for sustainable development.

Speaking on the broader role of tourism, Dr. Masisi highlighted its power to drive economic growth, foster cultural exchange, and deepen regional collaboration across the African continent. His remarks resonate with Ikogosi’s long-term vision of becoming a globally competitive destination capable of attracting high-value domestic and international visitors.

The presence of a respected African statesman of Dr. Masisi’s stature further boosts the resort’s profile and credibility on the international stage.

It also reflects Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort’s growing appeal among policymakers, business leaders, investors, and discerning travellers seeking authentic, world-class experiences within Africa.

The visit reinforces Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort’s positioning as a premium destination for leisure travel, executive retreats, conferences, destination weddings, and high-level diplomatic engagements. Since coming under the management of Glocient Hospitality, the resort has witnessed a steady transformation marked by renewed investment in infrastructure, enhanced guest experience, improved safety standards, and service excellence.

As Africa continues to position itself as a destination of choice for global travellers, visits such as this underscore the continent’s vast tourism potential and Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort’s place at the heart of that narrative.
