
The Cross River State Homeland Security Agency has applauded Governor Prince Bassey Edet Otu for his sustained efforts in promoting peace, security, and stability across the state, with particular emphasis on the Central Senatorial District.
The commendation was given by the Director of the Homeland Security Agency for the Central Senatorial District, Mr. Felix Arikpo (popularly known as Lewo), while speaking at a public function.
Mr. Arikpo expressed deep appreciation to the governor for prioritising security and fostering an atmosphere of calm that has significantly improved the quality of life for residents. He noted that Governor Otu’s proactive leadership style and consistent support for security agencies have helped restore public confidence and enhanced safety across communities in the district.
According to him, the prevailing peace in Cross River Central is a clear reflection of the governor’s people-centred approach to governance and firm resolve to address security challenges decisively. He added that the improved security situation has encouraged social harmony and boosted economic activities, making the area more attractive to investors, visitors, and tourists.
Mr. Arikpo also commended the Cross River State Homeland Security Agency for its effective collaboration with conventional security agencies, describing its role as critical in intelligence gathering, community engagement, and prompt response to security threats. He stressed that the synergy between the state government and security institutions has been central to sustaining peace in the district.
Reaffirming his support for Governor Otu’s administration, Mr. Arikpo pledged the continued cooperation of stakeholders in the Central Senatorial District to ensure that peace and stability are not only maintained but further strengthened.
He concluded by offering prayers for wisdom, good health, and greater success for the governor as he continues to lead Cross River State towards peace, progress, and sustainable development.
