Edswot Consulting among BusinessDay’s top 100 fastest growing SMEs 2025

Edswot Consulting Limited, an education technology company delivering multi-curriculum learning solutions, has been recognised on the 2025 BusinessDay Top 100 Fastest Growing Small and Medium Enterprises in Nigeria. The listing places the company among a select group of SMEs acknowledged for strong growth, scalability and contribution to expanding access to education.

Founded in August 2024, Edswot operates as a digital learning platform that connects learners with professional tutors across multiple countries. The company offers tutoring services aligned with British, American, Nigerian, Canadian and Irish curricula, in addition to lessons in languages, coding, music and examination preparation, with a model designed to bridge gaps in access to quality education across different regions and income levels.

Within its first year of operations, Edswot recorded measurable growth and usage across three continents. According to the company, the platform has supported over 200 learners, delivered more than 15,000 tutoring hours, and achieved exam pass-rate improvements of over 30 per cent for exam-focused learners. The company also engages more than 80 professional tutors, providing income opportunities alongside structured teaching support.

Edswot is led by Oluwatobi Godonu Akapo, Founder and Chief Executive Officer, whose professional background spans sales leadership and business development across technology-driven companies, including Jumia, Kwik Delivery, Shuttlers and Edukoya. Akapo’s experience in team building and operational scaling has informed Edswot’s early growth strategy and market positioning.

Under his leadership, the company has adopted a community-centred approach to education delivery. Edswot runs a scholarship initiative, “One Child, One Future,” which provides subsidised learning opportunities for underserved children. It also offers instruction in indigenous Nigerian languages such as Yoruba, Igbo and Hausa, alongside global languages including French and Spanish, combining cultural preservation with global competitiveness.

The BusinessDay Top 100 Fastest Growing SMEs ranking is determined using criteria such as revenue growth, innovation, scalability, market expansion and business sustainability. Edswot’s inclusion reflects its early-stage performance and its growing role within Africa’s education technology ecosystem.

Edswot stated that it plans to expand its operations into additional African markets and the United States, while increasing learner reach and tutor engagement. The company noted that it remains focused on improving access to quality education through a scalable, technology-driven and impact-oriented model.
