ABUJA – AS Nigerians commemorate 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day, a nonprofit organization, De Norsemen Kclub International, DNKI, urged Nigerians and those in the Diaspora to support families of fallen heroes who paid the supreme price securing the territorial integrity of the nation.

The call was contained in a commemorating message on Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day 2026, signed by the International President, DNKI, Oliver Patrick Ityohegh, where they acknowledged the selfless service of falling and surviving heroes  members of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Meanwhile, Ityohegh acknowledged the efforts of the Tinubu-led administration to change the narrative in terms of welfare and well-being of serving personnel, veterans, and military pensioners, whose years of sacrifice deserve sustained care, dignity, and support.

He said: “We extend our profound goodwill message to the Government and people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as the nation commemorates the Nigerian Armed Forces Remembrance Day 2026.

“De Norsemen Kclub International salutes the resilience, professionalism, and unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Armed Forces in the face of evolving security challenges. Their selfless dedication to duty across various theatres of operation underscores their role as a stabilising force and a pillar of national unity.

“We encourage the consolidation and expansion of these welfare programmes to further strengthen the bond between the nation and its defenders.

“As we remember our fallen heroes, DNKI calls on all Nigerians at home and in the diaspora to continually show love, respect, and unwavering support for the Nigerian Armed Forces.”

The DNKI also counseled that, “Beyond ceremonial remembrance, this support should be reflected in unity, civic responsibility, and collective commitment to peace-building and national development. A nation that stands with its military fortifies its future.

“May the souls of our fallen heroes rest in perfect peace, and may their sacrifices continue to inspire generations yet unborn.

“De Norsemen Kclub International remains steadfast in its commitment to humanitarian service, national cohesion, and the promotion of values that honour the legacy of those who paid the supreme price for Nigeria”, he added.
