Employee wellness issues will be the focus of a one-day conference on Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP) holding at the Chevron Recreational Centre, Gbagada, Lagos on Thursday.
The mini conference sponsored by Chevron Nigeria Ltd and Sages and Scribes Consultants will bring together human resource professionals and health and wellness experts to discuss how to use EAPs covering wellness, wellbeing and welfare to boost workplace productivity .
Psychologist, executive coach, workplace counselor and leadership expert, Dr. Laila St. Matthew Daniels will deliver the Keynote address on the topic: “The EAP Ecosystem: The Values and Benefits.”
A statement, the Managing Director, Sages and Scribes Consultants, Venerable Adelowo Adesina, said the programme would expose stakeholders to best practices in deploying EAPs for improved productivity.
He said: “Employee Assistance is about employees’ wellness, employees’ wellbeing, and employees’ welfare. The core of EAP is employees’ wellness for
productivity and performance.
“EAPs are a vital element of modern workplace wellbeing and productivity.
This conference will examine the full EAP ecosystem from prevention and
early intervention to counselling, crisis response, and integration with
organisational policies, highlighting measurable values and tangible
benefits for employers, employees, and the wider community.”
He also noted that registration for the event, which is both in-person and virtual, is free for participants.
He urged HR professionals, EAP practitioners, workplace counselors, wellness specialists, occupational health workers, doctors, nurses, therapists, psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, social workers, and those interested in employee well-being and welfare to register online.
As part of the event, a panel discussion will take place and the panelists are: Dr Tunde Orebiyi, Dr Daniel Odekunle, Dr Gbonjubola Abiri, Dr Yinka Jibunoh, Dr Abiye Alamina and Dr Bolanle Odulate.
The conference would also feature expert presentations, interactive workshops and stakeholder meetings, as well as
networking opportunities designed to translate EAP concepts into
practicable strategies that deliver results.
The Stakeholders Meeting will look at ways and means of improving the practice of EAP, workplace wellness, workers’ wellbeing, and employees welfare.
