Asholio Youths in Politics urge Moro’a leaders to Mentor Young people

By Ibrahim Hassan-Wuyo

A youth group under the banner of Asholio Youths in Politics has called on elected and appointed public office holders, particularly those of Moro’a extraction, to deliberately serve as role models and mentors to the younger generation in order to promote responsible leadership and sustainable development.

The appeal was made by the Chairman of the occasion, Builder Emmanuel Michael, during an award presentation ceremony held in honour of the Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Comrade Jerry Adams, alongside other distinguished personalities from Moro’a land.

The event took place on Wednesday in Manchok, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

Michael said the recognition accorded Comrade Adams and other indigenes of the area was well deserved, citing their proven track records of achievement and dedication to public service over the years. According to him, their success stories should inspire young people to pursue excellence, integrity and selfless service in all spheres of life.

He explained that the awards were not merely celebratory but a call to higher responsibility, urging the recipients to remain committed to service. He also challenged individuals in both the public and private sectors to always give their best, stressing that the honours were open to all who distinguish themselves through hard work and positive impact.

In his remarks, Comrade Jerry Adams, who received the Asholio Political Icon of the Year Award, expressed appreciation to the youth group for the honour, describing it as an encouragement to do more. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving humanity with diligence and transparency.

Adams emphasised the importance of hard work, discipline and focus, urging youths to remain dedicated to their legitimate pursuits. He advised them to set realistic and achievable goals, pursue self-improvement and remain united in order to harness their collective strength.

Calling for greater synergy among young people, the KADIRS Chairman encouraged them to be proactive and strategically position themselves to take advantage of opportunities when they arise.

In a goodwill message, the President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Dr. Job Bagat, congratulated Comrade Adams and other award recipients, describing the honours as a reflection of their dedication, integrity and service to humanity.

Rev. Dr. Bagat, who was represented by Mr. Emmanuel Bawa, stressed that true success is anchored on humility, perseverance and genuine commitment to service. He urged youths to imbibe these virtues in order to excel and contribute meaningfully to their communities and society at large.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, the member representing Kaura Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mr. Yusuf Asu Mugu, called for increased youth participation in politics and other critical sectors as a way of adding value to Moro’a land and promoting inclusive development.

Mugu, who received the Community Service Reawakening Award, also appealed for constructive criticism of public office holders, particularly political leaders, noting that such feedback would help improve performance and ensure effective service delivery.
