A youth group under the aegis of Asholio Youth in Politics has urged elected and appointed public office holders, particularly those of Moro’a extraction, to intentionally serve as role models and mentors to the younger generation in order to promote responsible leadership and sustainable development.

The call was made by the Chairman of the group, Mr. Emmanuel Michael, during an award presentation ceremony held in honour of the Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Comrade Jerry Adams, and other distinguished personalities from Moro’a land.

The event, which took place in Manchok, Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State, attracted community leaders, youths and other stakeholders.

Michael said the recognition accorded to Comrade Adams and other award recipients was well deserved, citing their track records of achievement and dedication to public service over the years. According to him, their success stories should inspire young people to pursue excellence, integrity and selfless service.

He explained that the awards were not merely celebratory but also a call to higher responsibility, urging the honourees to remain steadfast in their commitment to service. He further challenged individuals in both the public and private sectors to always give their best, stressing that the honours were open to all who distinguish themselves through hard work and positive impact.

In his remarks, Comrade Jerry Adams, who received the Asholio Political Icon of the Year Award, expressed appreciation to the youth group for the recognition, describing it as an encouragement to do more. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving humanity with diligence and transparency, while advising youths to embrace hard work, discipline and focus in their legitimate pursuits.

Adams urged young people to set realistic goals, pursue self-improvement and remain united in order to harness their collective strength. He also called for greater synergy among youths, encouraging them to be proactive and strategically position themselves to take advantage of emerging opportunities.

In a goodwill message, the President of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), Rev. Dr. Job Bagat, congratulated Comrade Adams and other award recipients, describing the honours as a reflection of their dedication, integrity and service to humanity.

Rev. Dr. Bagat, who was represented by Mr. Emmanuel Bawa, emphasised that true success is rooted in humility, perseverance and genuine commitment to service, urging youths to imbibe these virtues in order to excel and contribute meaningfully to society.

Speaking on behalf of the awardees, the member representing Kaura Constituency in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, Mr. Yusuf Asu Mugu, called for increased youth participation in politics and other critical sectors to enhance development in Moro’a land.

Mugu, who received the Community Service Reawakening Award, also appealed for constructive criticism of public office holders, particularly political leaders, noting that such feedback would help improve governance and ensure effective service delivery.
