
Godswill Akpabio, Senate President

UYO – STUDENTS in Northwest (Ikot Ekpene) Senatorial District of Akwa Ibom state have joined support groups promoting Senate President, Godswill Akpabio for reelection come 2027.
The students also pledged to support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Umo Eno for second tenure, adding Akwa Ibom and Nigerians desire the trio to continue their ‘good works’ for the country.
The students from the nine local government areas making the district pledged the support yesterday during a “Thank-You’ and Empowerment summit” held at Ikot Ekpene.
Patience Nnyenime, National Director of Humanitarian Affairs, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) who coordinated affairs said the event was to appreciate the students who boosted recent NANS Iconic Walk in honour of Senator Akpabio.
A communique from the summit read, “The summit resolved to encourage sustained solidarity as preparations toward the 2027 general elections continue.
“The empowerment of students as a strategic step toward strengthening students participation and leadership development within the senatorial district is a welcomed privilege.”
The communique further captured the gathering’s, “Unveiling of a symbolic Ballot Box representing the students’ collective support for the re-election of the President of the 10th Senate, Akpabio.
“Presentation of goodwill messages by student leaders from the four Federal Constituencies that constitute the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District, in honour of Senator Akpabio.
“A motion formally moved by the student leaders, through the Rt. Hon. Winner Archibong, Speaker 11th SUG Legislative Council, Akwapoly, expressing support for the re-election of Senator Akpabio in unanimous endorsement.
