2026: NSE President seeks unity, ethical rebirth among engineers

The 35th President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, NSE, Engr. Alimasuya Rabiu, FAEng, FNSE has called on engineers across the country to embrace unity, professionalism and collective responsibility as the Society enters 2026.


In his New Year goodwill message, Engr. Rabiu described the new year as the beginning of a defining chapter for the NSE, expressing gratitude to members for the trust and support that led to his emergence as president.


Reflecting on his professional journey, he said his rise within the engineering profession was shaped by years of service, mentorship and responsibility, adding that the NSE remains more than an association but an enduring platform built on shared purpose, service and professional ideals.


The NSE President paid tribute to past presidents of the Society, acknowledging their visionary leadership and commitment, which he said laid the foundation for the progress recorded so far.


He stressed that the next phase of leadership would be a collective effort, noting that the experience and counsel of past leaders would remain invaluable as the Society confronts emerging challenges and opportunities.


Rabiu emphasized that cooperation across all arms of the Society remains critical to advancing the engineering profession in Nigeria.


He assured members that his administration would be guided by integrity, ethical practice, inclusiveness and constructive engagement with government, industry and other stakeholders, stressing that national development depends on a strong, united engineering community.


Looking ahead, he outlined a vision of an inclusive and empowering NSE where every engineer feels valued and equipped for growth, innovation and service to society.


He reaffirmed his commitment to the NSE Strategic Agenda, noting that it would continue to guide efforts in membership development, collaboration, global relevance and community impact throughout 2026.


The NSE President assured members of his dedication to diligent service, expressing confidence that, together, engineers would build a stronger and more prosperous Society.
He wished members a successful and fulfilling 2026, marking the new year with optimism and renewed purpose.
