KADUNA — The Yoruba Welfare Group across Nigeria’s 19 Northern states, alongside major pro-Tinubu support organisations, has declared a unified vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, pledging continued backing for his Renewed Hope Agenda and his 2027 re-election bid.
The declaration was made on Wednesday in Kaduna during a strategic political meeting jointly convened by the Yoruba Welfare Group and several pro-Tinubu platforms, including the Disciples of Jagaban, Northern Region Support for Tinubu/Shettima 2027, Asiwaju Frontliners, Asiwaju Campaign Marshal, and the National Coalition of Tinubu Support Groups.
Leaders of the organisations emphasized the long-standing political and socio-cultural relationship between the Yoruba and Northern communities, assuring that millions of Yoruba residents across the North remain committed to President Tinubu’s leadership.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Aminu Suleiman of Tinubu Support Organisations underscored the importance of national unity, noting, “No region can survive without the others. We must tolerate and support one another for our nation to thrive.”
Comrade Abdulhakeem Adegoke Alawuje, National Coordinator of the Disciples of Jagaban, described North–South unity as non-negotiable, stressing that political differences must not threaten national cohesion.
“Our political differences are merely strategic; they must not lead to crisis. The North and the Yoruba have been deeply bonded for over 200 years, and Tinubu 2027 will not break that unity,” Alawuje stated. He also recalled President Tinubu’s role in mobilizing Yoruba support for former President Muhammadu Buhari in the 2015 and 2019 elections, urging reciprocity for the upcoming 2027 polls.
Hon. Dahiru Hammandikko, leader of Northern Region Support for Tinubu/Shettima 2027, reaffirmed solid Northern backing, saying, “The North will not betray President Tinubu. Nigerians must forget political differences—Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 is non-negotiable.”
Engr. Nurudeen Olaitan Amodu Ode, Chairman of the Yoruba Welfare Group across the 19 Northern states, highlighted the depth of the Yoruba–Northern political relationship, insisting that it cannot be undermined. “Despite the challenges facing Nigeria, President Tinubu remains committed to unity, stability, and growth. We assure Nigerians that he will not compromise the success and liberation of our nation,” he said.
Dr. Doyin Johnson, National Coordinator of Asiwaju Frontliners and Global Director-General of the National Coalition of Tinubu Support Groups, praised President Tinubu’s leadership as bold and transformative. “His mission to liberate Nigeria is unsettling entrenched global interests. His resolve to free Nigeria—and Africa—from long-standing economic and political traps is already making waves internationally,” Johnson said, urging Nigerians to rally behind the President.
Other leaders present included Hon. Adewale Adeogun of the Tinubu Progressive Forum and Hon. Danjuma Suleiman of the Asiwaju Campaign Marshal. The groups concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to mobilizing grassroots support for President Tinubu across Northern Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.
