The General Overseer of the Gospel Faith Mission International, GOFAMINT, Worldwide, Pastor Elijah Abina, has called on Nigerians to brace up for the Year 2026 saying that the coming year will be better than the outgoing 2025.

Abina who charged Nigerians especially Christians not to lose focus despite prevailing national challenges, noted that what is needed at a time like this is strong will and hope for better Nigeria.

While leading prayers against the rising insecurity confronting the country at the just-concluded GOFAMINT annual covenant HOSAM festival 2025, themed “Dry Bone Shall Arise Again”, Abina charged thousands of worshippers from across the country to brace up for the Year 2026.

Addressing the congregation, the cleric assured Nigerians that the nation is on the path to recovery, declaring prophetically that Nigeria would soon experience positive transformation.

Recounting a period when the naira held significant value, Abina noted that the country had witnessed better days and could experience such progress again. According to him, hope, faith and collective responsibility remain critical at this time.

“I know what leadership is. Let us, both as the Church and as citizens, remain hopeful and engaged through prayer and responsible civic conduct,” he said.

He further called on Christians across the nation to continually pray for political leaders, urging God to grant them wisdom and direction to do what is right for the people.

While acknowledging that the Nigerian government is making efforts within its capacity, Abina stressed that more needed to be done to tackle insecurity and economic hardship.

He emphasised that divine direction, unity and righteousness are key to overcoming the nation’s security challenges and restoring lasting peace and prosperity.
