Liberian music artiste, Larry G, born Elvis D. Saywon, is steadily carving a niche for himself as one of the most promising faces of Afrobeats in Liberia, driven by consistency, originality and growing continental recognition.
Larry G’s rise has been particularly evident in 2025, with the release of hit singles such as “My Time” and “Wicked People,” songs that gained massive airplay and acceptance not only in Liberia but also across Ghana and Nigeria. The impressive run earned him the Next Rated Artist of the Year Award at the just-concluded Liberian Music Awards, further cementing his place among the country’s fast-rising talents.
The young artiste is not slowing down. He is set to kick off the new year with the release of a fresh single titled “Yolo,” scheduled to drop in January, a move many industry watchers believe could further expand his influence within the Afrobeats space.
Speaking with journalists recently, Larry G described music as a deeply personal outlet.
“Music has always been my way of expressing myself and telling my story. I was inspired by my life experiences, the struggles around me, and the artists I grew up listening to. Music gives me a voice and a way to connect with people, inspire others, and share real emotions,” he said.
Born on November 23, 2003, in Nimba County, Liberia, Larry G’s journey into music began long before he stepped onto the national stage. Over the years, he has honed a sound that blends rhythm, emotion and authenticity—qualities that continue to resonate with a growing fan base.
With official releases including “My Time,” “Wicked People,” and “Lonely Soja,” Larry G has consistently showcased versatility and dedication to his craft. Music enthusiasts and industry stakeholders alike now see him as one of the leading voices of Liberia’s new musical generation and a potential torchbearer for Afrobeats in the country.
As his profile continues to rise beyond Liberia’s borders, Larry G remains one of the artistes to watch closely in Africa’s evolving music landscape
