ABUJA – THE Arewa Youth Assembly, Thursday, hailed President Bola Tinubu over the appointment of Air Vice Marshal Abubakar Idris Adamu (Retd) as Chairman of the Military Pension Board. 

The group in a statement signed by its President, Amb Danbature Abdul, said Tinubu’s appointment of AVM Adamu was apt, and that it will greatly impact positively on the lives of retirees.

Abdul described the appointment as a thoughtful and patriotic gesture pointing to Adamu’s professional competence and discipline.

According to him, Adamu is a round peg in a round hole that is better positioned to lead the Board at this critical period, given Adamu’s deep understanding of the challenges confronting military pensioners.

The Assembly assured Nigerians that the new Chairman would deploy his wealth of experience to galvanize operations of the Military Pension Board for greater efficiency in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu administration.

 It added that his leadership is expected to bring renewed stability, improved processes and enhanced welfare delivery to retired service personnel.

He also recalled the track record of newly appointed chairman as having an “enterprising spirit, sustained hard work and distinguished record.” 

While congratulating AVM Adamu, the Arewa Youth Assembly reaffirmed confidence in his appointment and assured him of its full support, which  the group urged him to work tirelessly toward strengthening the Board and uplifting the welfare of military pensioners nationwide.
