Comrade Oluwafemi Ajayi has been elected the National President of the National Association of Ogun State Students, NAOSS.
He was elected during the national convention of the body held at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta at the weekend.
Other officers elected are Olanose James – VP 1, Lawal Gbolahan – VP 2, Kamil Iseoluwa – Secretary, Folarin Israel – Auditor, Jamiu Mubaraq – Director of Welfare, Adeosun Joshua – PRO 1, Oderinde Tosin – PRO 2, Lawal Taofeek – Social Director, Abdulazeez Bashir – AGS 2 , Mustapha Damilola – Treasurer and Sobowale Bright – PRO 3.
Also elected were Olabode Opeyemi – Senate President, Tijani Abdulazeez – Deputy Senate President, Sokoya Abdulkareem – Clerk and Sodipe Emmanuel – Chief Whip.
In his acceptance speech, Ajayi commended senators in the association for upholding the constitution of the group.
“We commend President Bola Tinubu for his giant strides in the education sector and far-reaching steps aimed at addressing the security challenges facing the nation, and we strongly believe we shall overcome.
“NAOSS commend His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun, the Executive Governor of Ogun State for his commitment towards the development of education in Ogun State, as the Southern Governors’ Forum Chairman, he has distinguished himself in all ramifications especially in the aspect of student welfare.
“We thank the Hon Commissioner for Education, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, for his hard work towards the development of NAOSS and Omo Ogun nationwide. A new dawn is here in NAOSS. We commend the Commissioner of Police, a great crime buster, and the DSS for ensuring a very peaceful environment without any rancour.
“Today’s convention has reaffirmed that Omo Ogun remains united, we are calling on security agents, the media and general public to disregard any shenanigans parading themselves as NAOSS national leadership and decisively treat them as impostors.
“Finally, we are passionately appealing to our students friendly father and governor to remember his promise to late Comrade Oriwayi Samuel, the best graduating student 2022/2023 in Civil Engineering, by remitting the N2.5 million promise to his family,.
“NAOSS remains apolitical and never for sale. We will continue to support government’s developmental projects and react where necessary in the best interest of Ogun State students nationwide.”
