Olivet College of Health Technology, Azuba, in Lafia, has matriculated 114 newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session during its 11th matriculation ceremony.

Addressing the students at the event, the Proprietor of the institution, Dr. Agbo Cletus Abu, congratulated the fresh entrants and disclosed that the college currently offers three key programmes: Community Health Technician, Pharmacy Technician and Medical Laboratory Technician courses.

Dr. Abu said the institution is fully equipped with the facilities and manpower required to deliver quality training, including well-equipped laboratories, demonstration labs, computer and ICT units, a physical and e-library, classrooms, a general-purpose hall, sporting facilities, hostels and an on-campus clinic.

He charged both new and returning students to be disciplined and take advantage of the conducive learning environment to develop themselves academically and morally.

“There is zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice and any form of indiscipline in this institution. Any student found guilty of such acts will be dealt with decisively,” he warned.

The proprietor also highlighted the school’s commitment to corporate social responsibility, noting that educational and healthcare support is provided to the host community.

“Every academic session, we allocate tuition-free scholarship slots to indigent students from the host community. We also conduct free medical outreaches periodically for the host and neighbouring communities,” he said, adding that the most recent medical outreach was held on December 4 and 5, 2025, in Azuba.

Dr. Abu further revealed that the college is collaborating with the state government and community leaders to reduce the number of out-of-school children by engaging directly with parents and school authorities to address barriers to education.

On security, he assured parents and guardians that the institution takes safety seriously through the engagement of forest guards, collaboration with local vigilante groups and close working relationship with nearby police divisions.

In his remarks, the Provost of the college, Mr. Moses Joo, described the matriculation as a defining moment for the institution and the new students, stressing that they were now part of a community of future health professionals.

Joo urged the students to uphold the values of professionalism, integrity and compassion, while committing themselves to lectures, practicals and clinical postings without shortcuts.

One of the matriculated students, Miss Grace Gambo, expressed her joy at gaining admission into the college and pledged to remain focused and committed to her studies.
