He posted 24 points to see off a strong challenge from his closest rival Aron Sharma who garnered 28 points to win the runner up medal.

Talal Akar, Obafemi Ajala, Babatunde Bidemi Ojo, Oseni Jide and Vikram Singh made the top ten finishers in a tournament that has become a permanent feature in the club’s calendar.

The champion was decorated with a Green jacket by the Club Captain, Abdul Rasheed Adebisi and presented with a glittering trophy. He also carted home a 65 inch LG Nanocell TV, for his efforts. Other podium finishers in different categories were also presented with various items.

“It was not an easy game at all,” Kelani said, after the prize presentation ceremony. “It was so tough that at some point, I was unsure of my chances.”

He thanked the organizing committee for staging a wonderful tournament.

Captain of the Ikeja Golf Club, AbdulRasheed Adebisi said this year’s championship was stretched over one week in order to align with the world amateur golf ranking body and praised members for their commitment to the club’s programmes.

“I thank all members for their unwavering support which was so loud during the auction night. What we raised in the auction night ranks about the highest in the history of the club,” Adebisi remarked at the post event dinner.
