WARRI — The city of Warri is set for an international spiritual gathering as God’s Kingdom Society (GKS), The Church of the Living God, begins its annual observance of the Christian Feast of Tabernacles.
The eight-day festival, running until Sunday, December 21, 2025, is expected to draw members and friends of the church from across Nigeria and around the world to its headquarters at Saint Urhobo Square, Salem City, Warri.
In a statement released by the church’s Acting Publicity Secretary, Brother Emmanual Oriaku, the gathering is described as an act of obedience to divine command, continuing a tradition unbroken since 1935. Founded in 1934 by Saint Gideon Meriodere Urhobo, GKS is an international Christian organisation dedicated to spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Presiding over the assemblies will be the church’s President, Brother Felix Ekundayo Adedokun, who is scheduled to deliver a key address titled “Passing The Time Of Our Sojourning Here In Fear” during the Last and Great Day Holy Convocation on the final Sunday.
Daily activities from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm will feature soul-stirring and spiritually enlightening sermons delivered by ministers and elders. The event will also be live-streamed across the church’s online platforms, allowing a global congregation to participate virtually.
The feast includes a Christian Women’s Assembly, a Children’s Assembly, public street processions, a Christian Music Festival, blessings of children, laity declarations of faith, and sessions of special thanksgiving and prayers.
The church extended a cordial invitation to “all lovers of truth and righteousness” to participate in the historic gathering, marking over nine decades of the feast’s observance.
