ABUJA – The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Customs, Excise and Tariffs, Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho), has expressed confidence in the leadership of Senate President Godswill Akpabio, describing his handling of the 10th Senate as steady and driven by a commitment to national unity and development.

Senator Jibrin conveyed the message in a statement he signed and addressed to Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, the President of the 10th Senate, as the Senate President marked his birthday.

In the statement, the lawmaker praised Akpabio’s dedication to Nigeria’s progress, pointing to his legislative leadership and consistent advocacy for peace, unity and national transformation as defining features of his tenure.

“Your exemplary leadership, legislative excellence, advocacy for unity and development, and tireless dedication to the progress of our beloved country continue to inspire hope and trust in the hearts of Nigerians,” Jibrin said.

He noted that Akpabio’s leadership has helped sustain stability within the National Assembly, adding that his approach has reinforced public confidence in the legislature at a time of political and economic challenges.

“As you celebrate another year of life and service, I pray that God grants you renewed strength, divine wisdom, and good health to continue your patriotic contributions to the peace, progress, and stability of our dear nation,” the statement added.

Senator Jibrin wished the Senate President continued success as he leads the Senate and serves the country.
