No fewer than 1,000 residents of Keffi and surrounding communities have benefited from a one-day free medical outreach organised by the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation, in collaboration with the Tukur & Tukur Foundation, as part of activities marking the 10th anniversary of the reign of the Emir of Keffi, His Royal Highness, Dr. Usman Chindo Yamusa III, PhD, CON.

The outreach, held at the Primary Health Care Centre, Kofar Fada, Keffi, was aimed at providing accessible and quality healthcare services to underserved members of the community.

Services offered during the exercise included general medical consultations, eye screening, as well as ear, nose and throat (ENT) diagnosis and treatment. The programme was delivered by qualified medical professionals and volunteers, supported with modern medical equipment and essential supplies to address common health challenges in the area.

A breakdown of beneficiaries showed that 250 persons were screened for eye-related conditions, 175 received ENT consultations, while over 503 individuals benefited from general medical consultations. In addition, 121 pairs of reading glasses were distributed to patients with vision impairments.

Common ailments diagnosed during the outreach included dermatitis and other skin conditions, cataracts and related eye disorders, cerumen impaction (excessive earwax), malaria fever, typhoid fever and diarrhoeal diseases.

The medical outreach was a major highlight of the anniversary celebrations, commemorating a decade of purposeful leadership by HRH Dr. Usman Chindo Yamusa III. The initiative was widely described as a practical demonstration of the Emir’s enduring commitment to the health and welfare of his people.

Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to both foundations for the timely intervention, noting that the programme eased the burden of accessing healthcare for many families. Community leaders also commended the organisers for integrating humanitarian service into the anniversary celebrations.

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation and the Tukur & Tukur Foundation reaffirmed their commitment to promoting quality healthcare delivery and social welfare initiatives across Nigeria, stressing that similar interventions would be extended to other communities.

Observers noted that the outreach exemplified compassionate leadership and people-centred governance, serving as a fitting tribute to the Emir of Keffi’s decade of dedicated service to his kingdom.

The statement was signed by Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani, Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu and Chairman, TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation.
