The Oore of Otun Ekiti and Paramount Ruler of Mobaland, His Majesty Oba Dr Adekunle Adeagbo, Ilufemiloye I, has hailed the nomination of former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, as an Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, describing it as a honour to Mobaland.
President Bola Tinubu on Saturday forwarded the names of 32 ambassadorial nominees — including Fani-Kayode, the Aare Ajagunla of Mobaland — to the Senate for confirmation.
In a statement, Oba Adeagbo said the Federal Government’s choice of Fani-Kayode had brought pride to the people of Otun Ekiti. “We are delighted by this honour done one of our sons, the Aare Ajagunla of Mobaland, Otun Ekiti, by the Federal Government. We are proud of you. Well done. More glory and more grace,” he said.
The full list of nominees, released by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, also includes Barrister Ogbonnaya Kalu (Abia); former presidential aide Reno Omokri (Delta); former INEC chairman Prof. Mahmood Yakubu; former Ekiti First Lady Erelu Angela Adebayo; former Lagos deputy governor Otunba Femi Pedro; businessman and senator Jimoh Ibrahim (Ondo); and former Enugu governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, among others.
