In recent times , there has been growing public commentary and social media activity surrounding the personal affairs of Senator Ned Nwoko, particularly involving his wife , Regina Daniels and her mother.

While every individual has the right to personal expression, it is imperative to remember that freedom of speech must be exercised with a sense of responsibility and truth. Efforts – whether deliberate or unintended- that aim to tarnish the reputation of any individual, especially through half- truths , emotional manipulation or unverified claims do not serve the public good. Such actions only deepen divisions and invite unnecessary controversy into private matters that should be handled with discretion and mutual respect.

Given the scale of misinformation being peddled and the potential damage to the reputation, office and institution which Senator Ned Nwoko represents, it is necessary to call Regina Daniels and Rita Daniels to order.

It is obvious from the actions and reactions of Senator Ned Nwoko that he loves his family and does not want any crack in his family relationship, being a public figure representing the Delta North Senatorial district in the red chambers of the National Assembly.

Senator Ned Nwoko is a Polygamist and has no apologies about it. Over the years , the Senator has not been associated with domestic violence. As an exposed international lawyer, philanthropist and politician who spent several years abroad, he abhors domestic violence and his Ned Nwoko Foundation, amongst other things deals with issues relating to domestic violence and dignity of womanhood.

It is in this light that we need to properly x-ray and situate the recent comments credited to Regina Daniels , her mother and her siblings who have misrepresented issues in order to gather sympathy from social media users.

Senator Ned Nwoko’s major concern is to rescue his estranged wife, Regina from a battered public image , send her to rehab and reintegrate her back to his lovely family. However, the conduct and utterances of Regina and her actress mother have worsened the situation. Regina’s mother , in a widely publicized video message has claimed that his daughter supported the Senator with $50,000( about N72,000,000 ) during his 2023 senate election . Whilst there is nothing wrong for a wife to assist her husband in whatever method that is appropriate, it is doubtful that Regina could afford such a collosal sum of money unless she got it directly or indirectly from her husband.

It is very obvious that the media has not been responsible in the handling of this Regina Daniels’ saga. The media has been hyper- sensational without taking into consideration the sensibilities of those involved. Rather than play mediatory roles they consciously acted in a manner that exercabated rather than extenuate the issue . By so doing they deployed every instrument of prejudice, exaggeration, intimidation, lies , half truths and untruths just to demonize the parties involved. This is irresponsible journalism and should be condemned by men of good conscience.

It should also be noted that Senator Ned Nwoko is a public figure who has a lot of job on his shoulders that is impacting positively on his constituents and the nation in general. Misinformation such as we are seeing in the social media, which has properties of denigration is injurious to his constituents as much as the nation
Senator Ned Nwoko was a rich man before he returned to Nigeria. He had his law firm in one of the most expensive suburbs of London. He has worked hard all his life and it is unfortunate that a peaceful man who married some wives before Regina has now fallen victim of the violent shenanigans of Regina and her family.

Imagine the falsehood peddled about the passing of an innocent son of Senator Ned Nwoko. Like his father, Tarik neither drank alcohol nor smoked. He was a fervent and dedicated footballer who played for his University first team. The autopsy report indicated he died of heart failure in his sleep. Yet the Daniels’family , in order to attract public sympathy to themselves said young Tarik died due to use of drugs. Such a blatant lie was said without any sensitivity, feeling or emotion to the Senator’s grief. Rita Daniels should be warned for emitting defamatory statements into the public space.

Blackmail in law has its consequences and no one irrespective of sex is immune

On question of custody of her children, Regina should know that because of her current moral overhang, no court will grant her custody of the children. The best she can get is joint custody, meaning that Senator Ned Nwoko may allow her periodic access to her children.

To me and to many people, Regina and her family have gone too far in trying to demonize Senator Ned Nwoko who gave them comfort, social visibility and respectability in Nigeria and beyond. In trying to vilify their benefactor they have exhibited brazen ingratitude and contemptuous irresponsibility.

History will certainly not be kind to them for exhibiting this behavior.
Yet, Senator Ned is so large hearted that he is still eager to forgive , send Regina to rehab and possibly reintegrate her into the family. Such is the mettle Senator Ned Nwoko is made of- he harbours no grudges, keeps no malice and forgives with the speed of light.

Senator Ned Nwoko as a husband holds the family unit in highest regard. He has at all times conducted himself with restraint, patience and respect, even under extreme provocation. He remains committed to resolving these issues with decorum, guided by the principles of peace, forgiveness and respect for family values.

No responsible will sit comfortably and watch his wife’s conduct being influenced by drugs. Regina Daniels’ family seems to be the violent type- a trait that Senator Ned Nwoko abhors.

Finally , Regina and her mum should talk less and concentrate on how to keep off harms way . The situation in which the Ned Nwoko’s family finds itself is a delicate one and demands professional handling . Too much mud has been splashed already and it would take a very strong antiseptic and a good deodorant to sanitize the already contaminated media space.
An appeal is necessary at this juncture- let all parties sheath their swords and embrace peace in a mature way instead of washing dirty linens in the public. On the long on- if both parties do not resolve their differences they will be the losers while bloggers who fueled the controversy smile their way to the banks.
