BENIN CITY – Prince Alex Eguakhide, founder of Fecha Projects and organiser of the Edo Cultural Heritage Heroes Award, has commended Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo and the Majority Leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu, for facilitating the expansion and reconstruction of Ukhun Road in Esan West Local Government Area.

The road, which connects Idoa to Ewu in the Esan Central Senatorial District, had reportedly been in a poor state for over 16 years, limiting access to neighbouring communities.

In a statement made available to journalists in Benin City on Tuesday, Prince Eguakhide said the reconstruction of the road would boost economic activities and open up the community.

He expressed appreciation to the governor and the House Leader for the initiative, describing it as a significant development for Ukhun.

“I wish to express my profound gratitude for this thoughtful initiative and the development plans set to benefit Ukhun, particularly through the reconstruction of the new road. I also affirm my readiness to cooperate fully to ensure progress reaches all nooks and crannies of Esanland and across the state,” Eguakhide said.

He further highlighted the community’s commitment to supporting ongoing security improvement initiatives and fostering closer partnerships between the government and local residents for collective progress.

“I want to thank Hon. Jonathan Ibhamawu for his tireless efforts in facilitating the expansion and reconstruction of Ukhun Road. I look forward to continuing to work with him to build a brighter future for Ukhun and beyond,” Eguakhide added.
