Africa’s first recycling festival debuts in Lagos

As part of efforts to showcase Africa’s creative strength while promoting environmental sustainability, NMO Management and PR has announced the inaugural Artistic Pulse Festival #APF, Africa’s first Sustainable Recycling Festival, scheduled to hold from December 3 to 7 2025 at the historic Remembrance Arcade, Tafawa Balewa Square TBS Lagos.

The venue which symbolizes, Nigeria’s independence in 1960, will be transformed for five days into a vibrant hub of creativity, culture, innovation and commerce under the theme Footprints of Interconnectivity Growth and Expansion.

Positioned as a groundbreaking cultural showcase, the Artistic Pulse Festival integrates six major pillars of the continent’s creative industries including Music, Fashion, Film Nollywood, Food, Art and Technology while championing sustainability and recycling.

Organisers noted that the festival aims to highlight Nigeria’s cultural heritage and Africa’s creative energy while setting a new standard for eco conscious practices across the sector.

The immersive five day lineup includes symposiums, debates, a children’s corner, art exhibitions, a play zone, creative workshops and the Artistic Pulse Festival Trade Fair, where Creativity meets Commerce.

A major highlight is the Pan African Eleventh Annual Music Fashion Runway MFR, recognised as one of Nigeria’s most influential fashion brand showcases. Scheduled for Saturday December 6 at the Naval Dockyard, the runway event will feature leading Pan African designers, international models and live musical performances.

They revealed that American Idol winner and international music sensation Jordin Sparks will headline the festival as the international performing artist.

The celebration will also feature the Game Changer Africa Acknowledgement GCAA awards to honour trailblazers across various industries, along with the Golden Break Through GBT Auditions, an empowerment platform focused on discovering the next generation of top models for 2025.

Speaking on the vision behind the festival, the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NMO Management Ltd and Vice Chair of the NACCIMA Creative Economy Trade Group, Dr Ngozi Omambala, said the event marks a significant milestone for Africa’s creative economy.

“We are excited to announce and host the inaugural Artistic Pulse Festival, Africa’s first Sustainable Recycling Festival. Our mission is to showcase and integrate the main pillars of the creative industries including Music Fashion Film Nollywood Food Art and Technology at Remembrance Arcade TBS”.

She added that the initiative aims to support small and medium enterprises through sustainable practices.

We aim to leverage mutual synergies while demonstrating our commitment to supporting SMEs at the trade fair where Creativity meets Commerce, thereby contributing to Africa’s growth, she said.

The festival has received support from key government and private sector institutions including the Lagos State Ministry of Commerce Cooperatives Trade and Investment, the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry LCCI and the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce Industry Mines and Agriculture NACCIMA.

In line with its sustainability mission, NMO Management confirmed that Coca Cola Nigeria Limited and its recycling partner RecyclePoints will oversee the collection and recycling of all plastic packaging waste generated during the festival. Recycling stations will be placed across the venue to ensure a waste free environment throughout the five day event.

The Artistic Pulse Festival will be livestreamed across NMO Managements social media platforms, giving global audiences access to what organisers describe as a dynamic fusion of creativity sustainability and cultural excellence.
