Leaders and members of All Progressive Congress, APC, Aborigines in Ondo State, have resolved to join forces with other stakeholders in the party towards delivering maximally for President Bola Tinubu and other candidates of the party at the 2027 general elections.
The former Nigerian Ambassador to the Republic of Togo and the convener of the group, Ambassador Sola Iji, said this
at the official inauguration of the local government and wards’ coordinating committees for Tinubu 2027 in Ondo East and West local governments.
Ambassador Iji, while addressing the coordinators, admonished them to work assiduously with other leaders and members of the party in their respective areas towards winning the votes for APC in the next round of elections in 2027.
According to him “we are not in competition with the structures of the party or other support groups canvassing for the reelection of President Tinubu.
“We shall cooperate and collaborate with other stakeholders not only to win the state for the president but to maximize our returns at the polls.”
Iji emphasized the need to use the numerical strength and reach of the group to canvass for votes throughout the nooks and crannies of the state.
He said ” our numerical strength and network of canvassers should be of advantage in reaching out to voters across the length and breadth of the state.”
The convener, thereafter urged the attendees to continually pray for those presiding over the affairs of governments at all levels seeking for God’s guidance and wisdom.
Iji appreciated the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa for delivering good governance and peaceful coexistence in the state and also recognized the continued support for the group’s mission and encouragement offered by the Honorable Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Tunji Ojo.
Also speaking at the event, a former council chairman of Ondo East local government, Hon. Rafiu Akinkuolie, said that the Aborigines are critical stakeholders in the party and as such, should play a pivotal role in strengthening the party and mobilize for the reelection of President Tinubu.
