ABUJA – A Nigerian philanthropist, Dr. Livinus Adzer Tsar, has been honoured with Honorary Doctorate in Leadership and Governance by a United Kingdom, UK, based American University of Peace and Governance, in collaboration with the United International Peace and Governance Council, UNIPGC.

Tsar’s award was presented at the 3rd Global Leadership Investment Summit and Peace Awards, held at the House of Lords, British Parliament, London, UK, where the UNIPGC Global President and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, UN, Amb Jonathan Ojadah, charged the honourees to serve as peace ambassadors and model leaders on the global stage.

Meanwhile, Ojadah explained that the recognition of Tsar and others was on the heels of their “outstanding contributions to sustainable humanitarian efforts, social work, and development management.”

Interestingly, he (Tsar) is the first indigene of Benue State to be inducted as a member of the UNIPGC, and was celebrated for his tireless commitment to peace-building, good governance, community development, and empowerment initiatives.

Speaking on the significance of the award, the Secretary-General of UNIPGC, Dr Graziella Thake, highlighted Tsar’s dedication to poverty alleviation programmes, peace initiatives, and the empowerment of Nigerian youths, women, widows, and other vulnerable groups.

It will be recalled that over the years, Dr. Tsar has initiated several community-based programmes in Benue State, including skill acquisition training in tailoring, fertilizer production, barbing, hairdressing, shoemaking, and fabric design. Hundreds of trainees who completed these programmes have reportedly received start-up grants of ₦300,000 each to launch their businesses.

In addition, through his Livitsar Support Group for Alia/Tinubu 2027, Tsar has donated multiple motorized boreholes with reticulation systems across the 23 local government areas of Benue State to improve access to clean water.

The elated Dr Tsar in his remarks recommitted his dedication to serve humanity and also to support for the Benue State government policies and programmes under Governor Hyacinth Alia, which he described the award as motivation to deepen his contributions toward peace, good governance, and grassroots empowerment.

Also speaking, the Director of Programmes, London Graduate School Prof Kohol Iornem, commended the recognition, describing it as a call for Dr. Tsar to expand his impact on sustainable peace and development.

The UNIPGC, headquartered in Atlanta, USA, is a civil society and diplomatic organization dedicated to the promotion of global peace, good governance advocacy, and poverty eradication.
