Edo Obidient Movement elects new leaders

The Edo State chapter of the Obidient Movement has conducted election to ushered in new executives who will manage the affairs of the movement in the state.

The election which took place on Sunday, June 29, 2025 was adjudged to be peaceful and transparent, drew participants from across the state.

The election brought together electoral delegates from the three senatorial districts and the eighteen local government areas of Edo State, with over 42 leadership positions contested for.

The election saw the emergence of Comrade Asemota Igiogbe as the newly elected State Coordinator of the Edo State Obidient Movement.

Also elected was Comrade Benedict Inaede, who emerged as the new State Secretary of the movement, among several other newly sworn-in officers.

Other elected officers are Deputy Coordinators for the three senatorial districts in the state, they are Comrade Ofeosi Eddy,, Comrade Victor Ashaghe and Comrade Victor Ashaghe for Edo North South and central respectively.

The election was supervised by the South-South Coordinator of the Obidient Movement, Hon. Onochie Osheoku, alongside members of the State Electoral and Advisory Committee, ensuring credibility and adherence to the democratic ethos of the movement.

In his vote of thanks, Comr. Asemota Igiogbe expressed deep gratitude to members for their support, stating:

“Thank you for your trust and support. Together, we will steer this movement with selfless service and unwavering devotion. Nigeria will be great again — we will happen to Nigeria, Peter Obi will win, and our shared dream of a better nation will come true. Let’s make history.”

The Edo State Obidient Movement remains committed to promoting good governance, accountability, and the ideals represented by Mr. Peter Obi and the broader Obidient vision for a New Nigeria.
