Software engineer, Gabriel Udo empowers his community with ICT education

A Software engineer and ‘Community Advocate,’ Gabriel Udo, has impacted greatly on the lives of his Yakurr Local Government community, through Information Communication Technology ICT Education.

Gabriel Udo, a seasoned software engineer and philanthropist has declared, his determination to drive meaningful change in his community, by empowering local youths through Information Communication Technology (ICT).

In an exclusive interview with Vanguard, Udo shared his vision for youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and community development. Speaking passionately about his mission, he emphasized the importance of equipping young people with the tools and knowledge, needed to thrive in a rapidly advancing technological world.

According to him, on February 24th, 2023, his contributions were formally recognized by the Yakurr Local Government Council, which awarded him a ‘commendation letter’, for his selfless and outstanding contributions to technology awareness and community development.

“Gabriel Udo’s journey is a testament to what an individual can achieve through purpose and a commitment to service,” said Mr Matthew lkpi, a security consultant and ardent admirer of Gabriel’s work.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gabriel, dedicates his time to giving back to society, by organizing free training sessions, coding workshops, and STEM-based initiatives. These programs are designed to equip young people with practical digital skills and foster a culture of innovation.

“His goal is clear: to bridge the digital divide and create a society, where every youth, regardledss of backgcround, can access the tools they need to succeed in a tech-driven world,” was the view of Ikpi.

“With every workshop, every coding camp, and every mentorship session, I see the potential in our youths. All they need is opportunity, and I’m committed to being part of that bridge,” Gabriel Udo Udo affirmed.

This recognition from the council not only underscores his growing impact, but also highlights the importance of community-driven tech leadership, in building a more inclusive future.

His efforts have inspired many youths to pursue careers in technology, having uplifted local innovation, and contributed to creating a more digitally inclusive society.

As he continues his mission, Engr Udo remains committed to expanding his outreach, building more inclusive programs, and mentoring the next generation of tech changemakers.

“My testimony, I believe, is a good reminder that truev success lies not only in personal achievements, but in the lives you touch along the way,” the ICT guru reflected.
