KADUNA — As Muslims around the world mark the 2025 Eid-el-Kabir celebration, Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has assured his constituents of continued delivery of impactful and people-centered programmes using their mandate in the 10th National Assembly.

In a statement issued in Kaduna, Senator Usman, also known as Senator LA, extended heartfelt felicitations to all Muslim faithful across Kaduna State and Nigeria. He prayed for Allah’s acceptance of their prayers and acts of devotion during this sacred season.

The lawmaker, who chairs the Senate Committee on Basic and Secondary Education and serves as Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Financial Matters, emphasized the importance of prayers for Nigeria’s leaders, noting that the nation’s current challenges require divine guidance and collective sacrifice.

Senator Usman urged his constituents to continue supporting his efforts to bring greater socio-economic and infrastructural development to the seven local government areas that make up Kaduna Central. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving access to quality education, healthcare, clean water, electricity, and youth and women empowerment across the district.

Highlighting his achievements over the past two years, Senator Usman listed:

Construction of 100 smart primary school buildings with modern facilities

Scholarships worth hundreds of millions of Naira

Over ₦500 million disbursed for youth and women empowerment

Provision of more than 200 electricity transformers

Boreholes for potable water and solar-powered streetlights

Distribution of over 30,000 tons of fertilizer to farmers

Sponsorship of students for WAEC and JAMB exams

₦500,000 business capital each for 500 beneficiaries

Payment of registration fees for over 1,000 tertiary students

Vocational training in soap making, fish farming, and other skills for over 1,000 beneficiaries

Disbursement of ₦100,000–₦150,000 bursaries to over 200 students

Scholarships awarded to over 1,000 students in Humanities and Sciences

Ongoing plans to construct 20,000 km of roads across the district

Sponsorship of pilgrims for Umrah (lesser Hajj)

Sponsorship of four key bills and four motions in the Senate

Senator LA reiterated his resolve to work relentlessly toward alleviating the suffering of the less privileged and ensuring the equitable delivery of democratic dividends.

He called on Muslims to reflect on the essence of Eid-el-Kabir — sacrifice, obedience, and devotion — as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS). He urged citizens to embody virtues such as kindness, honesty, forgiveness, and tolerance in their daily interactions.

Senator Usman also stressed the importance of promoting peace, unity, and religious harmony. He encouraged Muslims to emulate Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by fostering peaceful coexistence with adherents of other religions.

“Let this season inspire us to show compassion, uplift the needy, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood in our communities. I wish all Muslims in Kaduna Central, Kaduna State, and across Nigeria a joyful and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir celebration.”

He concluded by urging all Nigerians to rise above selfish interests and promote the collective good through unity, understanding, and national sacrifice.
