The Delta State Traditional Rulers Council has lauded Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for the significant infrastructural developments recorded across the state in the past 24 months of his administration.
Rising from their monthly meeting held in Asaba, the monarchs noted that Delta State has experienced unprecedented grassroots development spanning the three senatorial districts, encompassing both urban centres and riverine communities. They urged the governor to sustain the momentum in the years ahead.
In a three-point communiqué delivered by the First Vice Chairman of the Council and Pere of Akugbene Mien, SP Luke Kalanama VIII, the royal fathers congratulated Governor Oborevwori on his 62nd birthday and praised his leadership, which they said has resulted in notable improvements in road infrastructure, school and hospital rehabilitation, as well as the construction of bridges and flyovers, enhancing the overall well-being of citizens.
The monarchs also commended the governor’s proactive approach to tackling insecurity and called on security agencies to intensify efforts to curb kidnapping and other criminal activities, particularly in rural areas.
They expressed satisfaction with the administration’s wealth creation initiatives, which they acknowledged have fostered human capital development and expanded employment opportunities for youths across the state.
The traditional rulers encouraged Governor Oborevwori to remain focused and committed to delivering more democratic dividends as outlined in the MORE agenda of his administration, expressing confidence that his good works would yield long-term benefits for the state.
The meeting was attended by the Second Vice Chairman of the Council and Obi of Ubulu-Unor, Agbogidi Henry Kikachukwu I (PhD), the immediate past Chairman of the Council and Obi of Owa, Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II, along with other traditional rulers from across Delta State.
