Six hours on, the Team Ogun athletes are adamant, Babcock University gate is still locked. Athletes are still stranded at the Games Village while officiating officials are still waiting at the various venues.
With Gov Dapo Abiodun celebrating his birthday tomorrow, his athletes want to make it a sour one for him except they are paid their allowances today.
Ironically, his birthday coincides with the closing ceremony of the Gateway Games which President Tinubu is expected to attend. If this protest continues, Gov Abiodun birthday celebration will not only be marred, President Tinubu may as well stay away from tomorrow’s closing ceremony.
