The Chairman of the TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation, Ibrahim Dahiru Danfulani (Sadaukin Garkuwan Keffi/Betara Biu), has announced the Foundation’s celebration of this year’s Children’s Day, emphasizing the importance of nurturing and supporting the nation’s young minds—especially those from less privileged backgrounds.

In a statement released to mark the occasion, Danfulani reaffirmed the Foundation’s unwavering commitment to the education and welfare of children, particularly those impacted by the sacrifices of military personnel.

The statement acknowledged the profound contributions of the Foundation’s Grand Patron, His Excellency, Ambassador Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusufu Buratai (Rtd), CFR, former Chief of Army Staff. “During his tenure, Gen. Buratai initiated several programs to support the education of children whose parents lost their lives in the line of duty during counter-insurgency operations in the Northeast,” it said.

“His dedication to this noble cause has left an indelible mark, ensuring that these children receive the care, support, and opportunities they deserve.”

As Children’s Day is marked across Nigeria, the Foundation issued a call to action, urging citizens to take responsibility for the welfare of orphans and less privileged children in their communities.

“We must remember the profound sacrifices made by the parents of these children, who laid down their lives for our safety and security,” the statement read.

The Foundation also encouraged the public to reflect on the challenges faced by children whose parents are currently serving on the frontlines, highlighting the need for compassion and collective support.

Furthermore, the Foundation called on Nigerians to offer prayers and gratitude for the brave personnel protecting the nation, often while separated from their families. “Let us cherish the moments we have with our children and honor those who continue to make sacrifices for our safety.”

The TY Buratai Humanity Care Foundation’s celebration of Children’s Day serves as a powerful reminder of the collective responsibility to ensure the well-being of future generations—especially those who have faced adversity.

“As we continue our vital work, we invite all Nigerians to join us in uplifting and supporting the children who are the backbone of our society,” the statement concluded.
